İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital Department of Otorhinolaryngology aims to provide the best quality health services with experienced and educated staff, equipped outpatient clinic, operating theaters and audiology unit.
Otolaryngologistsof İKÇÜ Atatürk Hospitalare known as ear, nose and throat specialistsand also known as head-neck surgeons take a patient-centered approach to treatment. Our compassionate care is delivered by a skilled team that is devoted to providing the best care for adults and children. From simple evaluations to complex surgical procedures, our specialists and sub specialists tailor treatments to your individual needs. We collaborate with doctors of İKÇÜ Atatürk Hospital in multiple specialties, from audiology and neurosurgeryto plastic and reconstructive surgery. We work as one team to deliver personalized care fueled by the latest research and discoveries.
Clinic Physical Structure of the Clinic and Staff
- Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology has 24 bed capacity at block of B and 24 bed capacity atblock of C, total of 48 beds capacityon 10. floor of main building.
- There are 6 faculties, 2 academics, 1 chief assistant, 9 specialist physicians, 7 assistant doctors, 13 nurses, 6 staff in our clinic. There are also 2 specialist physicians in Hatay annex building, 1 specialist physician in Narlıdereoutpatient clinic and 1 specialist physician working alternately in Balçova and Eşrefpaşa district outpatient clinic.
- The ENT diseases outpatient clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital and approximately 99200 patients are given outpatient services in 7 examination rooms.
- There is 1 audiology laboratory and vertigo laboratory in our outpatient clinic. Audiology unit is located in Hatay annex building, including 2 specialist audiologists and 8 audiometrists. In audiology unit, pure tone hearing audiometry, tympanogram, BERA, OAE, Caloric test, VHIT and Videonistagmography devices are actively used. In addition, an experienced speech psychologist is available in this unit.
- Three ENT operating roomsareused every day. The average number of operations is 3500 per year.
- We are actively expanding our faculty positions across multiple subspecialties.
Services in ENT Diseases Clinic
- Outpatient clinic and surgery services are available in every day.
- Patients hospitalized on the day of the outpatient clinic by appointment are discussed at the council where all clinical physicians are present and their operations are planned.
- In our clinic, medical and surgical treatment of all kinds of infections, trauma and tumors related to otorhinolaryngology and head and neck region routinely is performed.
- Periodic follow-up of the operated patients is performed by appointment method.
- The status of patients undergoing tumor surgery is discussed and resolved at the oncology tumor council, where medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and clinicians are present.
- In our outpatient clinic, there is a specialist for consultation and care of delegation patients.
- At noon every day at 13:30, a senior expert joins the health committee, where the reports of all units are organized.
- In our clinic and outpatient clinic, there are 1 flexible and rigid endoscopy devices, 2 microscopes, 2 microscopes in the operating room and 1 endovision imaging system.
- Once a week seminar presentation, anatomical practical training and case presentations are made for the assistant education every week.

- Face: including infections, malignancies, cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery, and facial reanimation following paralysis.
- Ears: including acute and chronic infections, congenital and acquired hearing loss, protruding ears, macrotia, audiologic testing, balance disorders, vestibular testing, and skull-base tumors.
- Nose and sinuses: including allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, sinonasal tumors, olfactory disorders, nazal deviations, nasal deformities.
- Mouth: including infectious, neoplastic, and congenital disorders of the oral cavity and salivary glands.
- Throat: including infections, malignancies, congenital malformations, voice and communication disorders, and swallowing and breathing disorders.
- Neck: including infections, congenital malformations, benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid gland, and other neck cancers.

- Nasal and sinus surgery and allergy and immunology: Septoplasty, septorhinoplasty and nasal valve surgery, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, open sinus tumor surgeries, endoscopic pituitary surgery
- Facial plastic surgery:Septorhinoplasty, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, macrotia surgery
- Head and neck cancer surgery: cyst or tumor surgeries located in the neck
- Laryngology; planned and emergency tracheotage, partial and total tracheotage, partial and tracheotage, partial and tracheotage, partial and tracheotage surgery
- Audiology; and speech-language pathology: Sudden hearing loss and intrigo-intratympanic drug applications have been included in the interventions
