Prof.Dr.Ali GÜRBÜZ
He was born in İstanbul at 1956. After graduating from Medical Faculty of Hacettepe University at 1981, he had completed his residency of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at same university at 1987. He had worked as resident chief and vice-chief of service at Koşuyolu Heart Hospital between 1987 and 1999. He earned associate professor degree in 1994. He was assigned as Chief of Service to İzmir Atatürk Education and Research Hospital in 1999. Between 2000 and 2002 was assigned as Chief of Staff at the same hospital. In 2011, he was assigned as Chief of Service to Izmir Katip Çelebi University Cardiovascular Surgery Department with professor degree. First hybrid operating room in Turkey is established by him. Although he is interested in all topics of cardiovascular surgery,his clinic is leader in new developing topics such as endovascular interventions, hybrid interventions and TAVI. Five workshops were arranged on these subjects with participation of international guests. He has approximately 1700 scientific articles and abstracts presented in congresses. He had worked as editor of Turkish Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Journal between 2005 and 2009.
He had many awards and plaquettes including “Doctor of the year award of Turkish Ministry of Health”at 2010. Between 2011 and 2013, he had worked ad secretary general of Turkish Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Magazine. He was president of Turkish Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Society 2013-2015. He is married and has three children.
